I’ve titled this piece Baby Blue. Even though she is a female calf, her light colors reflecting in the light of the deep blues of 200ft water gave way to all shades of blue showing up in the image. This playful calf was encountered off the coast of Tahiti in 2024 and was curious about our small group of snorkelers. She stayed with us for about 30 minutes, swimming in for a few closer looks before diving back into the deep to be near her mother watching us from below.
