During the 2024 hurricane season in Hawaii, a tropical storm was getting ready to approach the islands. This gave us glassy conditions on the water allowing for a calm and gentle day on the water, the calm before the storm. We encountered a small pod of bottlenose dolphins that came to investigate the boat and I was able to capture one of my favorite images ever. The gray skies allowed the rich blues of the water and light reflection of the clouds to dance in the waters surface while the dolphin came up to breathe.
